Leave accruals for all staff members should be updated every pay. This amount should be recorded for your reference and provided to your staff on their pay slip. If this information is not displayed on their payslip, it should be made readily available to the staff member in another form.
There are accounting systems that will automatically calculate your staff’s leave, however if your accounting systems does not calculate leave accrual you will be required to calculate this manually.

Full-time employees will accrue progressively to a maximum of 20 days’ annual leave during each year of continuous service in accordance with the National Employment Standards. Part-time employees will accrue a pro rata amount of annual leave.

Part-time employees will accrue a pro rata amount of Personal Leave. Untaken Personal Leave will accrue from year to year but is not payable on termination of employment.

An employee’s entitlement to Long Service leave will be in accordance with applicable legislation. Applications for Long Service leave should be made at least 6 months in advance.
