Your July – Sept Campaign Explained
Choose from two campaign options that are designed to strike a chord with our Gen X Mum target: the struggles of her own changing vision and the critically important vision development in her children.
Create awareness of presbyopia and the increasing concerns around myopia development in children to encourage new patient visits and reconnect with lapsed patients, reinforcing your positioning as the eye care expert in your community.

Presbyopia Campaign
The majority of our Gen X Mum target is in their 40’s with many likely to be experiencing some changes in vision as a result of presbyopia. We tackle the no. 1 symptom associated with presbyopia – the need to extend your arm to read the small print.
Even though Gen X Mum’s are concerned about their own health, they typically put their own needs last. In this campaign we’re encouraging her to address her deteriorating vision so it doesn’t get in the way of her busy life.
As Gen X women are influential in their partner’s health and well being, she can also identify the ‘long-arm’ tell-tale symptom in others and encourage them to see their local optometrist.
Myopia Awareness Campaign
Gen X Mum’s #1 concern is the health and well being of her children, who are typically aged between 6-10. This campaign is designed to educate her around the concerning rise in myopia prevalence, the long term health implications and ultimately, what she can do to reduce the risk for her children. This includes choosing green time over screen time in their younger years.
At the same time, it’s an opportunity to communicate optometrists’ ability to effectively slow the rate of myopia progression and reduce the likelihood of long term eye health problems.
This campaign seeks to drive Gen X mums to have their children’s vision examined by an optometrist to find out whether they are at risk of short-sightedness. With research suggesting that 32% of Australian children under 14 have never had an eye examination, there is a lot of education to be done.
